OSFC ACCELERATED URBAN CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Under the Ohio School Facilities Commision Accelerated Urban School Construction Project the Dayton Public Schools will renovate or rebuild 26 schools within the next ten (10) years. The $627 million dollar project will be funded 61% by the state and 39% by the District. The District's 39% was made possible through the community's overwhelming support of a $245 million bond issue, which provides the Districts matching cost plus any locally funded initiatives.

The Construction Project will include the construction or renovation of 28, pre-k-8, neighborhood-schools with 473 students each; four (4) new high schools, grades 9-12, with 950 students each; in addition, the high school construction/renovation project will include Stivers School of the Arts grades 7-12, with 998 students and David H. Ponitz Career Technical School grades 9-12, with 1,000 students.
