Giving Our Best Performance

Welcome!

Stivers offers programs in eight arts magnet areas: music (band, orchestra, piano, choir), dance, creative writing, theater and visual arts, as well as a full range of college preparatory academics. Special features of the arts program include weekly individualized instruction, special seminars, master classes and extensive opportunities for performance and creative expression. Students are provided instruction through contact with many of our community's leading professional and performing artists and arts educators. Student schedules are developed to permit maximum involvement in the arts and to accommodate a college preparatory course of study. Art themes are integrated into the general curriculum. Stivers’ dedication to uphold the highest standards is reflected in our credo, “giving our best performance.”

Students interested in attending Stivers School must participate in an audition process. Assignment to Stivers School is NOT a part of the lottery process. Selection of student artists will be made by the Stivers School audition team based upon audition results, available space, program needs, and cultural diversity. Parents should contact Stivers School for additional information.

Any student planning to audition for Stivers School must also complete a Lottery Application. This will allow you, the parent the opportunity to participate in the choice for your child's school assignment, if your child does not have a successful audition. If there are more successful auditions than seats available, Stivers School will maintain a database for one year, accepting more students as seats become available.

Other Points of Interest:

• Uniforms: Stivers School for the Arts is not a uniform school.
• Theme: Arts, all admissions through arts audition
