Welcome to Longfellow

Jack Johnson,

At Longfellow Academy, home of the Soaring Eagles, our mission is to provide opportunities for all of our students to thrive.

Our programs provide opportunities for students to enhance their personal, social and academic capabilities within a caring school environment through positive student-teacher relations and effective academic programming.

Blended Learning Program at Longfellow Academy

Seventh- and eighth-graders are provided busing every day in the morning and afternoon. Ninth- through 12th graders must provide their own way to and from school.

2017-18 school year offers free breakfast and lunch to our students every school day.

Our school has four programs. To be eligible for these programs, the student must be currently enrolled in a DPS school.

  1. Blended Learning Program - 9th-12th grade
    • Credit Recovery - Typically students do not stay more than a semester.
    • Enrollment starts with the student's counselor at the building currently attended by the student.
  2. C.A.P.S. - 9th-12th grade
    • Credit Recovery - Student length of stay varies.
    • Enrollment starts with the student's counselor at the building currently attended by the student.
  3. In Lieu of Expulsion - 7th-12th grade
    • Students home school may seek a change of a students location up to a max of 90 days.
  4. In-School Transition Program - 7th-12th grade
    • Select students returning to the district after being out for 45 days or more start here, then transition to a home school. Max stay here is 45 days.
