
Ballroom dancing champions crowned

Young competitors poured on the energy for everything from swing to the meringue, competing for the ballroom dancing championship at the Dayton Crowne Plaza Hotel. It was the scene of “Dare to Dance,” the Dayton Public Schools fifth annual ballroom dance competition, held June 6 for more than a hundred seventh- and eighth-grade students from four schools.
Students from EJ Brown, Kiser, and Westwood preK-8 schools and World of Wonder PK-8 School participated in five different dance categories: swing, rumba, hustle, tango and meringue.
