Welcome Eastmont Families!
At Eastmont PreK-8 we recognize the importance of a highly rigorous academic program in order to prepare our students to compete in the 21st century. Eastmont PreK-8 has a reputation for excellent academics as well as being a safe and positive environment for student learning. We are excited about a number of new programs and opportunities we have for your students in the 2012-2013 school year. Our Parent Academic Council (PAC) and Community Education Council (CEC) are both planning family fun nights and programs that are both educational and fun for you and your child. It is our hope that more and more parents will become involved in their child’s educational experience through these opportunities. For more information keep an eye on the website as we will publicize them here through monthly updates.
Parents can also now access their child’s grades from home through the Home Access Center. If you have not yet received your password, please see Peggy Cottle our PAC representative in the Title I Resource room, or ask any staff member.
This year we have begun a character education program, Girls On the Run, for girls in the 3rd through 8th grades. We also have begun First Tee, a program that teaches character education while exposing 2nd through 5th grades to the game of golf. Additionally, we are now recipients of a fresh fruit and vegetable grant that allows student to receive a snack that is either a fresh fruit or vegetable, twice a week.
Please take a moment to check out the Market Day link here on the website. Purchasing some of your groceries through this link is a convenient way to help support Eastmont while enjoying some great tasting and convenient items.
