Dayton Education Council
The DPS Office of Family and Community Engagement (FCE) develops and maintains effective school-family-community partnerships. The priority for FCE is to engage parents, families, and community members in a dialogue to create shared vision and responsibility for the education and well-being of children attending DPS.
According to research-based evidence, intentional, strong, and consistent family and community engagement in schools improves academic achievement, graduation rates, and student success. This collaboration will promote improved school-home communication, district school direction, classroom instruction, and district-school-community collaboration.
The Dayton Education Council is a partner with Dayton Public Schools, its staff, parents and students, along with the Dayton community to provide a high-quality public education for Dayton's children by increasing the level of parental and community involvement in the decision-making process of our public schools.
