Dear Dunbar Families: A case of COVID-19 was confirmed within Dunbar Early College High School. Contact tracing occurred that identified 4 office personnel who were exposed and sent to have the COVID-19 test. No results are known about them at this time. However, no other potential COVID-exposed personnel were identified.

Several staff members reported off on their own today, not because they were told they had been in contact with an exposed person. These individuals were not required to be tested.

Exposure requires 15 minutes of close contact within 6 feet, either consecutively or cumulatively, with a COVID-positive person. After each positive case, the district traces contacts based upon the above requirements by the Health Department. Those not in close contact for 15 minutes or more are not exposed and, therefore, not quarantined or tested.

After each positive case, work areas are thoroughly sanitized and cleaned.
