Town Hall meetings

Dayton Public Schools is seeking public input to assist in making some tough decisions as the district works to ensure more of every dollar supports classroom instruction. The third and fourth in a series of Town Hall meetings will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb 19 at Westwood PreK-8 School, 2805 Oakridge Drive, and March 19, at Wright Brothers PeK-8 School, 1361 Huffman Ave.

Competing priorities and limited resources are the focus of the meetings as parents, and community members are invited to suggest the best use of district dollars to make the greatest impact on classroom instruction. The district also plans to update the community on progress made since our town hall meetings last school year. For more information, contact the DPS Office of Family and Community Engagement at 542-3013.

Belmont Night at Dragons Stadium

Tickets are available now through Feb. 13 for Belmont Night at the Dayton Dragons Stadium (April 17). An entire section of the stadium will be reserved for Belmont and NJROTC supporters. Tickets are $17 each, and include stadium seating, $5 in food bucks, a raffle, and an exclusive Dragons Lair hat.

The Belmont NJROTC Color Guard will take the field to present the colors for the National Anthem that evening. A portion of each ticket purchase benefits the NJROTC unit, helping to send students to leadership camps, perform community service, attend rifle and drill meets, and provide resources for students.
