Ohio’s eight major urban districts are joining together for the second annual statewide job fair in order to interview those interested in teaching positions in their respective districts. The districts are collaborating on this job fair to showcase the opportunities available at Ohio’s urban school districts.
Due to changes in the state retirement system, record numbers of K-12 teachers are expected to retire at the end of this school year, adding a new emphasis to hiring the next generation of educators.
“Attracting qualified, motivated teachers who want to make a significant impact in our eight districts is critical,” Dayton Public Schools superintendent and Ohio 8 co-chair Lori L. Ward said.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to interview talented educators who have an enthusiasm for teaching in one of our eight districts, ” Toledo Federation of Teachers president and Ohio 8 co-chair Kevin Dalton said.
