Stivers School for the Arts senior Sasha Casada has been selected for a QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship. He will receive $73,000 per year to attend Swarthmore College in Pennslyvania.
This is the first time a student has earned this scholarship, Stivers Guidance Counselor David Asadorian said.
The QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship provides students who have excelled academically with a full scholarship to one of 40 highly selective colleges. The scholarship covers tuition and fees, room and board, books and travel expenses for four years.
Casada has been active in the dance magnet and the creative writing magnet at Stivers. He has also taken Advanced Placement courses since he was a freshman.
“Stivers has an amazing AP curriculum, which has really helped me prepare for college,” Casada said.
Casada currently has a 4.23 GPA. He is interested in majoring in biochemistry or economics.
