Alexandra Kincaid News

Updated January 18, 2022

MASK GUIDELINES

  • Masks are required for staff and students when indoors. If a safe distance cannot be maintained when outdoors, masks must also be worn.
  • Masks must be worn consistently and correctly at all times, covering both the mouth and nose.
  • Due to a federal mandate, staff and students of all ages are required to wear masks at all times when on school buses.
  • Teachers will continue to work with young students who have difficulty wearing masks. Mask breaks will continue to be permitted when it is safe to do so.
  • For students who suffer from anxiety over mask-wearing, individual exclusions can be determined with the school nurse and building principal.

ATHLETIC EVENTS

  • Events will be held at 50% capacity. Please click here for complete information about capacity and ticketing procedures.

QUARANTINE GUIDELINES

  • Vaccinated & Non-Vaccinated Staff and Student Exposure Quarantine Guidelines
  • Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 must ISOLATE for 5 days regardless of vaccine status. They may come out of isolation after 5 days if they have no symptoms or have been fever free for 24 hours (without medication). The individual must wear a mask for an additional 5 days.
  • If you were EXPOSED to someone who tested positive for Covid-19 and are asymptomatic and HAVE received your booster shot OR received both shots of either Moderna or Pfizer vaccines in the last 6 months OR received the J&J vaccine in the last two months: you do not need to quarantine, but must wear a mask for 10 days and test after day 5 if possible.
  • If you were EXPOSED to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 and you have NOT received your booster shot OR received the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines more than 6 months ago or J&J vaccine more than 2 months ago OR are unvaccinated: you must quarantine for 5 days. A mask must be worn for the next 5 days and test after day 5 if possible.
  • If symptoms develop after an exposure, stay home and get tested.
  • When returning to school, students must check in with the nurse upon arrival. Staff must provide a doctor’s release or negative lab analyzed results.
  • The district follows all quarantine guidelines set forth by the Ohio Department of Health and Montgomery County Department of Health.

OTHER PREVENTATIVE MEASURES

  • The district will continue to thoroughly clean buildings and sanitize high-touch surfaces.
  • DPS will follow guidance on social distancing as much as possible.
  • Proper and frequent hand washing will continue to be encouraged.
  • Students will continue to use water bottle filling stations rather than drinking fountains.
  • Visitors in buildings will continue to be limited to certain organizations approved by the district to provide support to students, such as Neighborhood School Center partner agencies.
  • Parents and guardians are not permitted in schools at this time.
