Students & Parents
Dayton Public Schools places great importance on consistent communication with parents and staff. ParentSquare is a safe and secure platform for all school-to-home communication that allows the district and individual schools to send robocalls, text messages, emails, and written “posts,” which might include newsletters or written reminders.
A ParentSquare account is automatically created for each parent using their preferred email address and mobile phone number on file at the school. Parents are encouraged to register and access their ParentSquare accounts so that they can set notification preferences.
1) Update your information
Ensure your phone number, email address, and home address are up-to-date in your school's student information system.
Inform your teacher, principal or call your school's main office if there is a change or if you are not receiving communication from your school or the district.
2) Register your ParentSquare account
You may sign up through the email invitation you may have received through ParentSquare or you may sign in to ParentSquare using your contact information (email or phone number) that is on file for your student at their school.
3) Update your settings
4) Make sure emails are getting through
Check your spam folder for emails from email@example.com and add the domain parentsquare.com to the safe senders list in your email client (Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, etc.).
5) Opt-in to text
If you previously opted out of texts but want to begin receiving them again, please text the word START to 66458. Your cell phone number must match the one in your school's student information system.
Note: 1 message per notification event. Reply HELP to 66458 for help. Reply STOP to 66458 to opt-out. See www.parentsquare.com/terms and www.parentsquare.com/privacy. Message and data rates may apply.
