Kids Fun Run and Wellness Expo also on tap for May 14 event

With every step you take, you can help DPS teachers spark their students’ imaginations. Dayton Public Schools invites you to lace up your running shoes and take part in the district’s first ever DPS 5K Walk/Run on May 14 at Welcome Stadium, 1601 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd., to benefit the Dayton Public Schools Foundation. A free Kids Fun Run begins at 8:30 a.m., and race start time is 9 a.m. sharp. Registration is just $20 per person or $25 on race day.
Individuals can register online at www.speedy-feet.com.
Kettering Health Network and other wellness partners will be on hand until noon with educational activities and information on healthy living. Visitors can enjoy the district’s Wellness Expo at no cost and do not have to participate in the 5K to attend.
The event is one of several planned by the district’s wellness committee to encourage healthful habits and healthy lifestyles among its approximately 2,500 full- and part-time employees.
The Dayton Public School Foundation is the funding partner with, but separate from, Dayton Public Schools, working to fund innovative classroom programs often vulnerable to budget constraints. Find out more on www.daytonpublicschoolsfoundation.org.
