The district’s first Pi Day Family Math and Literacy Night will be held on March 14th between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at David H. Ponitz CTC. The event is free and open to all DPS students and their families.

Dynamic speakers, financial literacy sessions, dinner, music and door prizes will make for a fun and informative evening. 

Speakers include Dr. Kirkwood, a national math consultant, who will discuss developing Math Literacy in the home. A representative from Fifth-Third Bank will also be present to discuss the marriage of math and money, and introduce parents to a new financial literacy course that will be available later in March. 

While parents attend sessions on math in the home and finances, students will visit multiple stations for math activities focusing on Pi.
