Free physical and dental screenings offered at Preschool Fairs

Dayton Public Schools will hold four Preschool Fairs to help parents register their young children for high-quality, free preschool for the 2016-17 school year. Attendees will learn about the district’s programs that lead children on a path to educational success. Refreshments will be provided and educational materials for preschoolers will be available. Area medical and dental professionals are donating their time to offer free physical and dental screenings.

     Each fair will run from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The dates and locations of the Preschool Fairs are:

·         Thursday, March 17 at Rosa Parks Early Learning Center, 3705 Lori Sue Ave.
·         Monday, March 21 at Cleveland PreK-6 School, 1102 Pursell Ave.
·         Tuesday, March 22 at Kiser PreK-8 School, 1401 Leo St.
·         Tuesday, April 5 at Edison PreK-8 School, 228 N. Broadway St.

Families will be able to register their child for preschool on-site. They must bring the following documents with them to register:

Child’s birth certificate
Picture ID
Proof of residency (dated within last 60 days)
Legal custody documentation (if applicable)
Most recent shot record (must follow state immunization schedule)
Physical form (can be completed on site or dated within last 12 months)
Dental form (can be completed on site or dated within last 12 months)

     The DPS Preschool Fairs are hosted in partnership with Miami Valley Child Development Centers; Auditor’s Office, Montgomery County; University of Dayton; CareSource; Dr. Teresa Zyrd and family practice residents; and Miami Valley Hospital dental staff.
