Legislative breakfast to address issues affecting public education

     The Dayton Board of Education and Superintendent Rhonda Corr are bringing together educators and local and state officials to exchange ideas about the current state of public education. A legislative breakfast will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, in the Dayton Public Schools Community Room, 115 S. Ludlow St.

     Participants will discuss key district initiatives, including new academic strategies, the Office for Males of Color, the PowerUp DPS 1-to-1 technology initiative, Preschool Promise, and plans for the district’s athletic program.  

     Participants also will meet the newest members of the district’s leadership team, including Superintendent Corr; Chief Academic Officer Markay Winston, Ph.D.; and Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning Elizabeth Lolli, Ph.D.

     Board member, Hazel Rountree, Ph.D., J.D., will moderate the proceedings. President Adil Baguirov, Ph.D., will make opening remarks. For more information, contact Cherisse Kidd in the Office of the Board of Education, at (937) 542-3080.
