Students in the Automotive Program at David H. Ponitz CTC are working to restore a 2005 Toyota Camry. The car will be raffled off and given away to one lucky student at the annual “It To Win It” event held during the last week of school.

In It To Win It has been held for the last 8 years. Each year, Automotive students refurbish, repair and detail a car that is then raffled off for students. This year’s event is made possible by Voss Auto Network, O’Reilly Auto Parts, and Grismer Tire.

Each quarter, Ponitz students have the opportunity to earn tickets for having perfect attendance and making the honor roll, for a total of 8 possible tickets. At the end of the year, those tickets are entered into a drawing for the car and other prizes.

There are 31 students in the Ponitz Automotive Program. The Dayton Public School District has 26 Career Technical Programs and two dedicated Career Technology Centers that prepare students for college and careers. For more information about the district’s CTE programs, please click here.
