WHAT:
DPS will observe National Manufacturing Day 2015 with tours to several Dayton area manufacturing sites to expose students to today’s high-tech manufacturing, education required to enter the field, and the high-paying jobs available in our region.

WHEN:
9:30 a.m. — 2:30 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 2, 2015

WHERE:
Manufacturing sites in the Dayton area (see schedule below)

INFO:
National Manufacturing Day aims to dispel common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors to students. The event allows manufacturers to begin to address the labor shortage, connect with future generations, and educate students about the high-paying jobs in our area that await qualified candidates.

NOTE:
Dayton Metro Library (serving four schools) and the City of Dayton will provide makers’ kits and lesson plans to all the fourth-grade classrooms in DPS so that every fourth-grader (more than 1,000) can participate in Manufacturing Day. Combined, more than 1,400 students and adults from DPS will participate in Manufacturing Day this year.
