The Dayton Public Schools Office for Exceptional Children announces the 2016 Provider Transition Fair, presented by the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services (MCBDDS) from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Nov. 17, at Ponitz CTC, 741 Washington St. The event is held to connect individuals and families with private providers of adult day, employment and transportation services.

Planners focus on middle and high school students with disabilities who are beginning to think about their plans for living, earning and learning after leaving high school. Students, their families and teachers will receive information about options for living, working and continued learning, as well as community resources to support taking the next steps into the adult world.

Representatives from most provider agencies in Montgomery County will be at each event to speak to individuals of all ages and their family members about their programs and services. (Please note: These fairs take the place of MCBDDS’s earlier Meet and Greet events, which featured fewer providers.)

To prepare for this event, individuals and families may wish to review the following resources available on the MCBDDS website. Questions about these events may be directed to Kaye McCarthy at 937-457-2804 or kmccarth@mcbdds.org.

Transition provider events also will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Nov. 9, at Wayne High School, and Nov. 29, at Trotwood-Madison High School.
