For Immediate Release

Monday, Aug. 22, 2016 is the first day for all Dayton Public Schools preschool students. Teachers will notify families of parent orientation dates and staggered start dates as young students get acquainted with their schools. Parents will receive information from their schools regarding the specific dates that apply to them and their children.

Fourteen DPS preschool programs hold the distinction of earning the highest possible state rating-five out of five stars-for giving children a strong start in life. Step Up To Quality is Ohio’s rating system that awards one to five stars to learning and development programs that go above and beyond minimum licensing standards. Star-rated programs lay the foundation for children’s learning and development and build skills that are important for success in school and in life.

All kindergarten through grade 12 students report to school Tuesday, Aug. 16.
Families may enroll their children in a DPS preschool program for the 2016-17 school year by contacting the DPS Student Enrollment Center at 937-542-5555 or by logging on to EnrollDPS.com for more information.
