DPS recognizes its hidden heroes

A dozen Dayton Public Schools employees were honored Friday, February 21, 2020, at the second Breakfast of Champions of the 2019-2020 school year. The celebration honors those who go above and beyond to serve DPS students.
The Breakfast of Champions was established during the 2018-2019 school year. It is held three times a year in cooperation with Learn to Earn Dayton, Montgomery County Educational Service Center and the Mayor’s City of Learners Initiative.
Employees must be nominated for the honor. Teachers are required to have at least 85 percent of students scoring proficient on state tests for class scores, or at least 1.5 years in growth on MAP for a full year on the most recent test results available. Employees nominated for the award are hidden heroes who are committed to improving the lives of students in the district.
