Mark Baker, athletic director, Dayton Public Schools
Dunbar and Belmont families, friends and fans

WHAT: Dayton Public Schools and the DPS Athletics Department could make history with this week’s aptly titled, “Game of the Year,” between the Dunbar Wolverines and the Belmont Bison. The weekly tailgate party will help get the crowd fired up for the big game.

WHEN:  Friday, Oct. 28, 2016
               Tailgate at 5 p.m.
               Game time at 7 p.m.

WHERE:  Welcome Stadium
                  1601 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd.

INFO: The Friday Night Lights Tailgate Party takes on significant meaning this week. Not only is it a cross town rivalry between Dunbar and Belmont, but the outcome of the game could be a historic first for DPS athletics. Dunbar has already earned a spot in the high school football playoffs, but if Belmont wins the game between them, the Bison will also make the playoffs. This would be the first time two DPS football teams have made the playoffs during one season. All game ticket holders can eat for free at the tailgate, enjoy some games, and dance to the music provided by deejay, Ron Hunter. Thank you to our proud sponsors: Dayton Education Association, Montgomery County Black Elected Officials, Wright & Schulte LLC, Taste Restaurant, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Ponitz culinary arts students, and Ponitz chefs Anthony Head and William Tucker. For more information, contact DPS Athletic Director Mark Baker at 542-4070.
