Ohio’s eight major urban districts are joining together once again for their third annual statewide education job fair, and are looking to recruit highly qualified teachers for a rewarding, challenging career in their respective districts.
The Ohio 8 Coalition Job Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 12 at the Embassy Suites North in Columbus. During the event, human resources staff from Akron, Canton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo and Youngstown will conduct on-site interviews with interested teaching candidates.
“Hiring the next generation of highly qualified, motivated teachers is essential to making an significant impact in our districts,” Canton City Schools superintendent and Ohio 8 co-chair Adrian Allison said.
“This job fair affords us the opportunity to focus on interviewing educators who are enthusiastic to teach in one of our eight districts,” Dayton Education Association president and Ohio 8 co-chair David Romick said.
The districts are collaborating on this job fair, which is funded through an Ohio Innovation Grant, to showcase the opportunities available at Ohio’s urban school districts. The schedule is:
9 a.m. — 10:00 a.m. Registration, meet & greet with district staff, interview sign-ups
10:15 a.m. — 12:30 p.m. Interviews
12:45 p.m. — 12:55 p.m. Meet & greet with district staff, interview sign-ups
1 p.m. — 3 p.m. Interviews
