Parity, Inc. touring DPS schools to strengthen ties

    The Dayton Board of Education is opening its doors to the local non-profit, Parity, Inc.,   Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, in hopes of developing future projects that benefit students. Parity, Inc. is a local non-profit organization that advocates for the African-American community in areas of education, economics and social issues. Representatives will tour eight Dayton Public Schools to explore ways they can better serve the district and its students.

    School Board member, Hazel Rountree, is facilitating the daylong event, beginning at 8:30 a.m., in the community room of Dayton Public Schools, 115 South Ludlow St. Representatives will split into groups, and then each group will visit two schools. Group tours will begin at approximately 9:30 a.m. at Thurgood Marshall STEM High School, Ponitz Career Technology Center, Dunbar Early College High School, and Belmont High School. The groups will then tour Horace Mann PreK-6 School, Kiser PreK-6 School, Charity Adams Earley Girls Academy, and Valerie PreK-6 School beginning at approximately 11 a.m. The participants will then reconvene at the DPS community room for presentations about the district presented by Board President Adil Baguirov and DPS administrators.
